Alexei Kapkin – Global Equity Analyst

Alexei graduated from Moscow Mining Institute in 1998 with an Msc in Electronics. He undertook a PhD in Economics and Corporate Finance at CERGE-EI in Prague before starting his career as an engineer with NPO “Geophyzika” in Moscow.  In 1997 Alexei joined Dresdner Kleinwort Wassertein as a research analyst based in London and Moscow covering Banks, other Financials Mining and Engineering Stocks.  In 2003 he joined Lazard Asset Management as a specialist Financials analysts and became a Director in the highly rated Lazard Global Financials Team.  He is a highly rated analyst recognised for his fundamental research skills and was rated No1 in the 2005 Extel Survey for his coverage of European Banks.

Alexei has over 12 years of experience and joins River and Mercantile Asset Management LLP as a Global Equities Analyst and Partner in September 2009.
He is married with two children.
