Operations

The operational infrastructure is the glue that holds a business together.  Although a “hygiene” factor it is critical that a business has a robust, scalable and efficient infrastructure which is both cost effective and compliant. This is an area that is often overlooked with a start-up/small fund management operation. R&M have developed an infrastructure that is scalable, highly automated and cost effective.

We have established a separate Compliance and Risk function.

We outsource the headcount intensive non-core functions to leading specialist businesses.  This includes Fund Administration which covers the middle and back office functions within the business.  We have outsourced this to BNYMellon.  This links seamlessly with our sophisticated front office systems which incorporates all our automated pre and post trade compliance checks. All of these systems and compliance checks are designed to minimise the scope for “finger error” etc.

All of our policies and procedures are in line with best practice and extend to all areas of our business including HR.  We are very comfortable to provide significant exposure to our operational infrastructure.  Extensive independent operational due diligence has been undertaken on our business by leading UK and international investors.  In all cases we have received very positive endorsements of our procedures.

We have invested heavily in our Client Service and reporting function that links directly into the internal and outsourced operational functions.

We have a comprehensive Disaster Recovery plan which is regularly tested and we have a rolling plan of enhancements to ensure that we maintain “best in class” procedures.

We have instigated a comprehensive, rigorous and robust approach to our Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process, specifically stress testing Pillar 2 scenario requirements.
